The Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (TERM) lab, led by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thi Hiep and Dr. Doan Ngoc Hoan, was founded in 2014 as one of the core orientations in School of Biomedical Engineering, International University, VNU-HCMC. It is our mission to transform basic science and engineering related to biomaterials, cells and biomolecules into practical applications in medicine and public heath.

We are primarily interested in investigating proteins (collagen, gelatin, etc.), natural polysaccharides (chitosan, alginate, cellulose, hyaluronic acid, xanthan gum, etc.), synthetic polymers (polyvinyl alcohol, polycaprolactone, etc.), bioceramics (hydroxyapatite, biphasic calcium phosphate) and their combinations thereof for the purpose of regenerating both soft and hard tissues as well as wound healing promotion. Following the fabrication process, our group conducts various physicochemical characterization, in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate the fabricated biomaterials and engineered tissues.
