Roles of Industrial Advisory Board

IAB members are the representatives of healthcare companies, medical centers, and hospitals who potentially employ BME graduates. They advice on BME program education objectives, strategic areas of curriculum development, research, fundraising, and outreach.

The main roles of IAB include:

A. Help balance the educational program to match with current and future needs in BME by advising on:

  • Program educational objectives
  • Student outcomes
  • Curriculum

B. Help the program to steadily progress by:

  • Collaborating with the BME Department in R&D
  • Establishing the link between BME Department and other partners to bring academic products into the market
  • Helping the Department to enhance and modernize its facilities
  • Participating in organizing seminars and conferences
  • Providing teaching personnels and equipment for education in the program.

C. Help students to acquire real-world experiences by:

  • Creating internship and jobs in industry
  • Organizing field trips in industry

    • Participating and sharing experiences in:

    • Specific case studies
    • Entrepreneurship, Start-up and commercializing products
